NAVTEQ creates the digital map database of the Highway Network that enables the highest quality geospatial, GIS, and ITS applications, including vehicle navigation and location-based services. The map contains 150 attributes per road link and over 45 categories of points of interest. The database is used for route optimization, real time vehicle tracking, traffic and weather collection, and public safety applications at every level of government, for all North American in-vehicle navigation systems, and the majority of Internet and wireless geospatial content providers.
