President’s Report – Winter 2012/2013

Happy New Year!  ITS Minnesota has closed out a busy 2012, and is looking forward to even more in store for 2013.  One of our primary goals is to improve member benefits so that you are getting the most out of your relationship with ITS MN.  We are also seeking to improve our network with existing and new city and county members to ensure everyone in the ITS industry in Minnesota can take advantage of what ITS MN has to offer.

Matt Gjersvik, ITS MN President

October saw another successful and well attended Fall Industry Forum with a range of dynamic speakers.  The opportunity to network with new faces and catch up with familiar ones was a highlight of the season.  The December Luncheon and Educational Session on ITS procurement was also well attended and brought the first in a series of ITS education modules prepared by the FHWA and RITA.

2013 holds some major events for ITS Minnesota, the largest being the National Rural ITS (NRITS) conference in St. Cloud.  We are working hard to prepare a fantastic and informative four days of proceedings that we hope will draw both out of state attendees and as many Minnesota delegates as well.  Please mark August 25-28 on your calendars!  We will also be holding our annual meeting on March 12th which will be my last day as ITS MN president.  Time certainly does fly.

As always, the ITS Minnesota Board welcomes your input and suggestions.  Please feel free to contact me at  mgjersvik@imagesensing.com This email address is being protected from spambots.
