ITS is alive and well in Minnesota, as evidenced by the successful ITS Minnesota Annual Meeting held on March 12, 2013. With over 80 in attendance, it was one of the most widely attended annual meetings we have put on. I would like to thank Matt Gjersvik for his leadership as the 2012-2013 president, and welcome the new ITS Minnesota Board members and committee participants.
2013 promises to be another good year for our organization, with Minnesota hosting the National Rural ITS (NRITS) conference in St. Cloud later this summer. We are working hard to prepare a fun and informative four days of proceedings that we hope will draw both out of state attendees and as many Minnesota delegates as well. Please mark August 25-28 on your calendars!
More immediately, we are offering an educational session on June 5th that brings the US DOT’s Connected Vehicle 101 Workshop to Minnesota. Come learn about the future of automated highway technologies. Following is the annual joint luncheon being co-hosted with NCITE and WTS. The luncheon speaker will be James Pol from FHWA who will share additional insights into the Connected Vehicle program.
